This is a very nice original Structo brand, pressed steel toy dump truck. The tire sidewalls read “Structo Toys”. Structo Toys was founded in 1908 in Freeport Illinois. The name of the company was a play on the “inde-structo-ble” quality of their steel building sets, which were the forerunners to the A. C. Gilbert’s “Erector Sets”. This truck, made in the 50’s, has a manual dumping box, with a push-lever at the front to release the bed. The tailgate swivels for dumping. The truck is green and red, although the photo shows more of a blue tinge. Please note the Structo decal on the hood. There is light, vintage wear around the edges and the bumper, and one headlight is missing.
