Functional and cheerful, this vibrant turquoise, royal blue, and deep green floral pattern is ideal for a poolside patio tray or to add colour and retro flair to your walls. Images show a collection of three. This ad is for the blue and green item, but please check out the other colours. Trays can also act as food service platters. Detail shows one cm circle blemish, otherwise good vintage condition.
A brief history of the FAB Tray: Very collectible and truly groovy, FAB (short for fabric) trays were produced by the Hardy Glenwood Company during the 1960’s and 70’s. Each tray is unique with its one-of-a kind flower-power fabric sandwiched within 2 layers of resin finish and molded with a raised scalloped/ruffled edge. The trays were not only sold throughout North America as serving utensils, but also décor pieces for the wall. Canadian retailers Eaton’s and Birks represent 2 of the many stores that were proud to sell these FAB(ulous) trays. Reproductions of iconic paintings and souvenir destination images were also used as designs in later years. Production of these trays ceased in the mid 70’s, when the cost of oil based resin became prohibitive.
Dimensions: 13” diameter
Condition: We love searching for beautiful vintage and antique products and recognize part of the charm of each piece is the item’s aged condition. Wear is normal, of course, as the products have been loved and used through their history. It is important that your purchase meet your expectation, so every effort is made to note imperfections beyond the normal vintage wear. Please let us know if you would like more details. Unless otherwise noted, item is in good vintage condition with normal marks of use.
